Visacki and Cole Both Led Round One of the 90th Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – The 90th Iowa Open presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort has a two-way tie for first place with Michael Visacki of Sarasota, Florida and Ryan Cole of Mount Airy, Maryland on Friday, August 4 at Blue Top Ridge. Visacki and Cole both turned in a 7-under-par round of 65 of both led the round one.
Visacki carded birdies on holes 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 14 and 17; an eagle on hole 7 including bogeys on holes 6 and 13. Cole carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 15 and 17 including a bogey on hole 14. Four other players are in a tie for third place with rounds of 66, 6-under-par, Kaylor Steger of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; Tee-K Kelly of Wheaton, Illinois; Alex Schaake of Omaha, Nebraska and Zach Burry of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Pro Senior Division has a two player tie for first place with rounds of 4-under-par 68 were Chad Proehl of Urbandale, Iowa and Jeff Schmid of Iowa City, Iowa.
Pro Super Senior Division is led by Chuck Moran of Marshalltown, Iowa by turning in a 1-under-par 71. Moran carded birdies on holes 2, 11, 12, 15 and 17 including bogeys on holes 4, 5, 7 and 16. Runner-up has a three player tie with rounds of even-par 72 were John Bermel of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jim Henry of West Des Moines, Iowa and Marshall Gavre of Fairfield, Iowa.
Open Amateur Division has a three player tie for first place with rounds of 2-under-par 70 were Hogan Hansen of Waverly, Iowa; Will Simpson of Pella, Iowa and Jack Dumas of LeClaire, Iowa.
Open Senior Amateur Division is led by Scott Schultz of Muscatine, Iowa by turning in a 5-over-par 77. Schultz carded a birdie on hole 11; an eagle on hole 12; bogeys on holes 2, 3, 6, 10, 13, 14, 17 and 18. In second place lead by Todd Smith of Decorah, Iowa turned in a round of 13-over-par 85.
Open Super Senior Amateur Division has a two player tie for first place with rounds of 3-over-par 75 were Bob Brooks of West Des Moines, Iowa and Jim Butler of Fort Madison, Iowa.
The second round of the 90th Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. For pairings and tee times, click here.
