Five Iowa PGA Members to Compete at PGA Professional Championship-
Frisco, Texas – The Iowa PGA has five Iowa PGA Members competed in the PGA Professional Championship on April 28 – May 1, 2024, at the Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.

Tracy Vest of Lake House Sports, Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club, Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club, Darin Fisher of NB Golf Cars and Davis Sutton of Cedar Rapids Country Club all competed.

Round one:
Giannetto’s first round score of 72, he carded birdies on holes 1, 7, 13 and 18; bogeys on holes 11 and 14 including double bogeys on hole 9.

Schmid’s first round score of 73, he carded birdies on holes 2, 15 and 17 including bogeys on holes 3, 5, 6 and 13.

Sutton’s first round score of 76, he carded bogeys on holes 2, 3, 6 and 13.

Vest’s first round score of 80, he carded bogeys on holes 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 3.

Fisher’s first round score of 87, he carded a birdie on hole 17; bogeys on holes 4, 7, 8, 9 and 15 including double bogeys on holes 11, 14 and 16.

Round two:
Schmid’s second round he carded bogeys on holes 2, 5, 12 and 18 including a double bogey on hole 16. His 36-hole total score was 73-78=151, 7-over-par.

Sutton’s second round he carded birdies on holes 17 and 18 including bogeys on holes 1, 3, 4, 6 and 16. His 36-hole total score was 76-75=151, 7-over-par.

Giannetto’s second round he carded birdies on holes 2, 7 and 12; bogeys on holes 1, 5, 8, 9 and 16 including double bogeys on holes 3 and 14. His 36-Hole total score was 72-80=152, 8-over-par.

Vest’s second round he carded a birdie on hole 8 including bogeys on holes 1, 9 and 16. His 36-hole total score was 80-74=154, 10-over-par.

Fisher’s second round he carded a birdie on hole 2 including bogeys on holes 6, 8 and 12. His 36-hole total score was 87-74=161, 17-over-par.

The projected 36-hole cut was +3 each of our Iowa PGA Members fought hard through the rain and fog delays.
