Vest Wins Iowa Senior PGA Professional Championship-
Dubuque, Iowa – Tracy Vest of Lake House Sports win the Iowa PGA Senior PGA Professional Championship on Thursday, August 17 at Dubuque Golf & Country Club and will lead Seven Section PGA Professionals to compete on October 26-29, in the 35th Senior PGA Professional Championship. Vest turned in a total score of even-par, 70-70=140 to capture the win.
Vest defeated Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club in a sudden death playoff.
Vest is joined by Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Club, Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf, Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course and Life Member Joe Butler. Alternates Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course, Todd Fowler of Golf Galaxy – Davenport, Steve Charters of Gardner Golf Course and David Edwards of Dubuque Golf & Country Club.
Schmid and Proehl are both exempt and do not count toward the five qualifying spots as they both competed in the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.
The Super Senior Division was won by Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course with rounds of 71-77=148 for a total of 8-over=par. Schnell carded a birdie on hole 10 including bogeys on holes 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 18. Runner-up was Life Member Joe Butler with rounds of 72-77=149 for a total of 9-over-par.
