Team Schmid/Gibb Wins Iowa PGA Veenker Pro Challenge-
Ames, Iowa – Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf won the Iowa PGA Kick-Off Fourball on Monday, April 8 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course. The team of Schmid and Gibb turned in a team score of 7-under-par 65.
Teams comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals. 18-Hole Team Event – 1 Best Ball of 2. Individual Open, Senior, Super Senior and Legends Divisions.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Team All Pro featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior, Super Senior and Legends Divisions.
Schid took home first place in the Open Division and Senior Division. Schmid turned in birdies on holes 1, 7 and 10; an eagle on hole 16 including a bogey on hole 5. Two way tie for second place between Tracy Vest of Lake House Sports and Gibb both turned in scores of 1-under-par 71 in the Open Division.
Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course took home first place in the Super Senior Division with a round of 7-over-par 79. Schnell turned in bogeys on holes 2, 5, 7, 11, 14, 15 and 17. Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course turned in 8-over-par 80 to place second place in the Super Senior Division.
Life Member Larry Castagnoli took home first place in the Legends Division with a round of 15-over-par 87. Castagnoli turned in birdies on holes 4, 16 and 17; bogeys on holes 5, 6 and 15 including double bogeys on holes 2, 3, 7, 9, 12 and 13.
