Team McCarty/Schmid Win Pro-Pro #1-
Altoona, Iowa – Sean McCarty and Jeff Schmid both of Brown Deer Golf Club won the Pro-Pro #1, Monday, April 3 at Terrace Hills Golf Course. McCarty and Schmid turned in 8-under-par 63 to capture the win.
Teams for Pro-Pro #1 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in an 18-Hole Team Event, one of best ball of two format.
McCarty and Schmid carded birdies on holes 1, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 16 and 18.
Runner up teams of Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course and Zach Steffen of Terrace Hills Golf Course and Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake and Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf all tied for second place with a 6-under-par 65.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #1 featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Open Division winner Steffen claimed first place in the Open Division with a 5-under-par 66. Steffen carded birdies on holes 4, 6, 9, 15 and 17; an eagle on hole 11 including bogeys on holes 10 and 13.
Senior Division winner McCarty took home first place in the Senior Division with 2-under-par 69. McCarty recorded birdies on holes 6, 7, 9, 11 and 18 including bogeys on holes 5, 12 and 15.
Super Senior Division winner Ken Schall of Ken Schall Golf Performance Studio claimed first place in the Super Senior Division with 2-over-par 73. Schall recorded birdies on holes 2, 6 and 13; bogeys on holes 1, 4 and 18 including a double bogey on hole 17.
