Steffen Wins Iowa PGA Assistant Match Play-
Riverside, Iowa– The season long Iowa PGA Assistant Match Play Champion was crowned. Zach Steffen of Terrace Hills Golf Course won the Iowa PGA Assistant Match Play by defeating Davis Sutton of Cedar Rapids Country Club in the final match, 5 & 4. Click here for results.
Here is Steffen’s path through the Assistant Match Play Brackets.
Steffen had a bye in the first round of the West Bracket. He faced Tommy Vining of Hyperion Field Club in the second round defeating him, 2 & 1. He then went on to knock John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, 2 & 1. In the fourth round of the West Bracket, Steffen took on John Thompson of Prairie Links Golf & Event Center and defeated him, conceded in the match. The final Championship match has Steffen defeating Sutton, 5 &4 to win the 2023 season long Iowa PGA Assistant Match Play Championship.
This was Steffen’s first Assistant Match Play Championship Title.
