Schaake Wins the 90th Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – Alex Schaake of Omaha, Nebraska is the 90th Iowa Open Champion presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort on Sunday, August 6 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Schaake’s 3-day total was 66-62-67=195, -21. Schaake’s final round included birdies on holes 4, 5, 10, 14 and 15; an eagle on hole 12 including bogeys on holes 1 and 17 as he fired a 5-under-par round of 67. This was Schaake’s first professional win.
Runner-up was a tie between Michael Visacki of Sarasota, Florida with a 3-day total of 65-66-68=199, -17 and Zach Burry of Appleton, Wisconsin with a 3-day total of 65-66-68=199, =-17.
Judd Gibb of Fort Dodge, Iowa wins the Iowa Open – Senior Division with a final round of 4-under-par 68. Gibb’s birdies on holes 4, 9, 11, 12 and 18 including a bogey on hole 17. Gibb’s 3-day total was 70-69-68=207, -9. Runner-up was Jeff Schmid of Iowa City, Iowa with a 3-day total of 68-70-71=209, -7.
Marshall Gavre of Fairfield, Iowa wins the Iowa Open – Super Senior Division with a final round of 2-under-par 70 with birdies on holes 5, 14, 15 and 17 including bogeys on holes 9 and 18. Gavre’s 3-day total was 72-71-70=213, -3. Runner-up was John Bermel of Cedar Falls, Iowa with a 3-day total of 72-76-70=218, +2.
Hogan Hansen of Waverly, Iowa wins the Iowa Open – Amateur Division with a final round of 2-under-par 70 with birdies on holes 2, 3, 4, 10, 15 and 16; bogeys on holes 8 and 14 including double bogey on hole 1. Hansen’s 3-day total was 70-70-70=210, -6. Runner-up was a tie between Thomas Storbeck of Ventura (71-70-70=211, -5) and Chad McCarty of North Liberty, Iowa (73-67-71=211, -5).
Bob Brooks of West Des Moines, Iowa wins the Iowa Open – Super Senior Amateur Division with a final round of even-par round of 72 with birdies on holes 3, 5, 7 and 12 including bogeys on holes 8, 13, 16 and 18. Brooks 3-day total was 75-75-72=222, +6.
