Schaake Leads Round Two of the 90th Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – Alex Schaake of Omaha, Nebraska leads round two of the 90th Iowa Open presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort on Saturday, August 5 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Schaake turned in a 10-under-par round of 62 to lead round two.
Schaake carded birdies on holes 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 17; an eagle on hole 4 including bogeys on holes 1 and 13. Three players are in a tie for second place at 13-under-par, Kaylor Steger of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; Tee-K Kelly of Wheaton, Illinois and Michael Visacki of Sarasota, Florida.
Pro Senior Division is led by Jeff Schmid of Iowa City, Iowa with rounds of 68-70=138, 6-under-par. In second place is Judd Gibb of Fort Dodge, Iowa with rounds of 70-69=139, 5-under-par.
Pro Super Senior Division is led by Marshall Gavre of Fairfield, Iowa with rounds of 72-71=143, 1-under-par. In second place is Jim Henry of West Des Moines, Iowa with rounds of 72-74-146, 2-over-par.
Open Amateur Division has a two players tied for first place at 4-under-par were Hogan Hansen of Waverly, Iowa (70-70=140) and Chad McCarty of North Liberty, Iowa (73-67=140).
Open Senior Amateur Division is led by Scott Schultz of Muscatine, Iowa 77-74=151 7-over-par. In second place was Todd Smith of Decorah, Iowa with rounds of 85-80=165 21 over par.
Open Super Senior Amateur Division is led by Bob Brooks of West Des Moines, Iowa 75-75=150 6-over-par. In second place is Jim Butler of Fort Madison, Iowa with rounds of 75-77=152 8-over-par.
The final round of the 90th Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m (due to pending weather in the afternoon the tee times have changed). For pairings and tee times, click here.
