Proehl makes cut at the Senior PGA Championship
ROCHESTER, NY – Iowa PGA member, Chad Proehl from Sugar Creek Golf Course survived the cut at the 81st KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at the Oak Hill Country Club.

Proehl made the push for the cut line by posting a 1-over-par 71 to follow the 76 he shot in Thursday to put him into his first weekend in a Senior Major. Proehl carved out two birdies and three bogeys on the back-9 to shoot a one-over par 36.  Playing the front 9 second he made one birdie and one bogey to finish at 147 +7) and in a tie for 50th place.  Proehl will be paired with Bill Andrade and Mark Brooks at 7:44 am off of #10.

Schmid finished first Friday morning scoring the same as he had on Thursday for back-to-back 7-over par 77’s.  Schmid made one birdie in his 2nd round to finish off an exciting two weeks having participated in the PGA and the Senior PGA.

Oskaloosa native and a former Iowa PGA Section Professional, Jerry Smith also made the cut by shooting a score of 71-74=145 to sit in a tie for 30th place.  Smith will tee off of #1 at 7 am.
