McCarty Wins Iowa PGA Senior Match Play-
Riverside, Iowa– The season long Iowa PGA Senior Match Play Champion was crowned. Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, Iowa won the Iowa PGA Senior Match Play by defeating Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Club in the final match, 2 & 1. Click here for results.
Here is McCarty’s path through the Senior Match Play Brackets.
McCarty had a bye in the first round of the East Bracket. He faced Mike Armes of Geneva Golf & Country Club in the second round defeating him, conceded. He then went on to knock off Life Member Joe Butler, 2 & 1. In the fourth round of the East Bracket, McCarty took on Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and defeated him, 3 & 2 in the match. The final Championship match had McCarty defeating Proehl, 2 & 1 to win the 2023 season long Iowa PGA Senior Match Play Championship.
This was McCarty’s first Senior Match Play Championship Title.
