McCarty Wins NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout
Amana, IA – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club wins the NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout Monday October 6, 2020 at Amana Colonies Golf Club.
Iowa PGA Professionals were competing in a 36-hole Stroke Play with Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
McCarty took home first place in the Open Division with rounds of 69-74=143 for a two-round total of 1-under-par. McCarty’s second round 74 included birdies on holes 5 and 15 with a double bogey on hole 14 and bogeys on holes 10 and 13 in his win. Runner-up Ryan McClintock of Short Hills Country Club carded rounds of 74-71=145 and a two-round total of 1-over-par.
Judd Gibb of Lakeside Municipal Golf Course won the Senior Division with rounds of 74-77=151 and a two-round total of 7-over-par. Gibb’s second round 77 included bogeys on holes 1, 10, 16 and 18 with a birdie on hole 11 and a double bogey on hole 17 in his win. Runner-up Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club carded rounds of 80-73=153 and a two-round total of 1-over-par.
Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course wons the Super Senior Division with rounds of 81-75=156 and a two-round total of 12-over-par. Smith’s second round 75 included a double bogey on holes 5, 7, 12 and 13 with a birdie on hole 6 in his win. Runner-up Larry Castagnoli, PGA Life Member carded rounds of 82-78= 160 and a two-round total of 16-over-par.
