Jennings Wins NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout-
Marshalltown, Iowa – Matt Jennings of Bos Landen Golf Club wins the NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout Monday, October 2, 2023 at Elmwood Country Club.
Iowa PGA Professionals are competing in a 36-Hole Stroke Play with Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Jennings claims first place in the Open Division with a 2-under-par round of 68 on day two. Jennings carded birdies on holes 1, 13, 14 and 18 including bogeys on holes 12 and 16. Jennings two-day total was 64-68=132, 8-under-par. There is a two-way tie for second place between Sean McCarty (65-72=137, 3-under-par) and Jeff Schmid ((65-72=137, 3-under-par) both of Brown Deer Golf Club both carded 2-over-par rounds of 72.
Schmid and McCarty both tied for first place in the Senior Division.
Life Member Joe Butler claims first place in the Super Senior Division with a 9-over-par round of 79. Butler carded a birdie on hole 13; bogeys on holes 2, 4, 6, 11, 12 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 1 and 5. Butler’s two-day total was 74-79=153, 13-over-par. Life Member Dave Ranney turned in 10-over-par round of 80. Ranney’s two-day total was 81-80=161, 21-over-par.
