2024 PGA Winter Championship – Senior Stroke Play Recap-
Riverside, Iowa – Seven of our Iowa PGA Professional’s Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course, Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf, Executive Director of the Iowa PGA Section Greg Mason, Life Member Dave Ranney and Mike Hall of Brown Deer Golf Club all competed in the Senior Stroke Play Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Overall Group A (Ages 50-59) Chad Proehl finished in 2nd place, Sean McCarty finished in T16th place. Judd Gibb finished in T35th place, Greg Mason finished in 99th place and Paul Del Vecchio did not finished R2 with a DQ.

Overall Group B (60 & Over) Dave Ranney finished in T66th place and Mike Hall finished in T97th place.

**Play of round 2 was suspended at 2:39 PM on Monday, January 15. 2024. Due to 5″ of accumulated rainfall overnight and current course conditions, play of round 2 was finished on Tuesday, January 16, 2024**

The Iowa PGA Professionals also compete within smaller age groups.

Ages 50-54 – Gibb & McCarty
McCarty’s two-day rounds of 0-72=142, 1-under-par and placed him T8th.

Gibb’s two-day rounds of 71-74=145, 2-over-par and placed him T16th.

Ages 55-59 – Proehl & Mason
Proehl’s two-day rounds of 70-66=136, 7-under-par and placed him 2nd.

Mason’s two-day rounds of 91-92=183, 40-over-par and placed him 56th.

Ages 60-64 – Ranney
Ranney’s two-day rounds of 75-73=148, 5-over-par and placed him 31st.

Ages 80-84 – Hall
Hall’s two-day rounds of 77-76=153, 10-over-par and placed him T4th.
