2024 PGA Winter Championship – Proehl Wins Quarter Century-
Riverside, Iowa – Seven Iowa PGA Professionals competed in the Quarter Century A & B Championship on January 10-11, 2024. Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course, Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf, Life Member Dave Ranney, Paul Del Vecchio of Crow Valley Golf Club, Executive Director of Iowa PGA Section Greg Mason, Mike Hall of Brown Deer Golf Club and Life Member Gale Gilbert all competed on January 10-11, 2024.
Final results – Overall Group A (64 & Under) Chad Proehl finished in 1st place, Judd Gibb finished in T21st place, Dave Ranney finished in T61st place, Paul Del Vecchio finished in T99th place and Greg Mason finished in 121 place.
Overall Group B (65 & Over) Mike Hall finished in T80th place and Gale Gilbert finished in T95th place.
The Iowa PGA Professionals also competed in smaller age groups.
Ages 50-54 (Judd Gibb)
Gibb’s two-day total rounds of 72-71=143, 1-under-par, and placed him in 4th place.
Ages 55-59 (Chad Proehl, Paul Del Vecchio & Greg Mason)
Proehl’s two-day total rounds of 70-69=139, 5-under-par, and placed him in 1st place. Del Vecchio’s two-day total rounds of 79-80=159, 15-over-par and placed him T33rd place. Mason’s two-day total rounds of 99-87=186, 42-over-par and placed him in 43rd place.
Ages 60-64 (Dave Ranney)
Ranney’s two-day total rounds of 77-74=151, 7-over-par, and placed him in T31st place.
Ages 65-69 (Gale Gilbert)
Gilbert’s two-day total rounds of 77-83, 18-over-par, and placed him in 49th place.
Ages 80-84 (Mike Hall)
Hall’s two-day total rounds of 80-75, 13-over-par, and placed him 4th place.
