Vest Wins Iowa PGA 36 Hole Classic
Sherrard, Illinois | Milan, Illinois – Tracy Vest of Blue Top Ridge won the Iowa PGA 36 Hole Classic Presenting Sponsor by Mizuno, Monday April 19 at Fyre Lake and Pinnacle Country Club. Vest turned in 7-under par 135 to capture the win. The Iowa PGA 36 Hole Classic was comprised of 36-Hole Stroke Play, Individual PGA Open Division, Senior Division and Super Senior Division.
Vest took home first place in the Open Division. Vest carded seven birdies and two bogeys in his first round and carding four birdies and two bogeys in his second round. Recording a 5-under par 65 in the first round before finishing with a 2-under par 70 in his second round. Runner up Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club recorded 4-under par 138 for the event.
Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club took home first place in the Senior Division with a 2-over-par 144. Schmid recorded three birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey in his first round and three birdies and three bogeys in his second round. Recording 2-over par 72 in his first round before finishing with an even-par 72 in his second round. Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course recorded 6-over par 148 for the event.
Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course took home first place in Super Senior Division with a 10-over par 152. Smith recorded two birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys in his first round and one birdie, four bogeys and one double bogey in his second round. Recording 5-over par 75 in his first round before finishing with 5-over par 77 in his second round. Jim Henry of EK Golf recorded 16-over par 158 for the event.

The winner of the Mizuno 36-Hole Classic automatically qualifies for the John Deere Classic Open Qualifier. Vest had previously earned this exemption due to his third place at the 2020 Iowa PGA Professional Championship. McCarty will join Schmid and Vest at the John Deere Classic Open Qualifier on July 5 at the Pinnacle Country Club.
