- Ames, Iowa – Sean McCarty and Jeff Schmid both of Brown Deer Golf Club won the Pro-Pro #1, Monday, April 11 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course. McCarty and Schmid turned in 8-under-par 64 to capture the win.Teams for Pro-Pro #1 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in an 18-Hole Team Event, one of best ball of two format. McCarty and Schmid carded birdies on holes 1, 3, 5, 9, 10, 12,15 and 18. The Iowa PGA would like to thank our Presenting Sponsor PGA Tour for sponsoring this event. - Austin, Texas –Five of our Iowa PGA Professionals will be competing at the 2022 PGA Professional Championship this coming Sunday, April 17-20, 2022 in Austin Texas at the OMNI Barton Creek. Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club, Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course, Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club. Alternates in order are Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake and Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf. Good Luck Schmid, McCarty, Black, Proehl and Giannetto.
