Teams Black/Fisher & Lorenz/Shawver Tie for First at Pro-Pro #3-
Oelwein, Iowa – The teams of Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course and Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake and Brian Lorenz of Spirit Hollow Golf Course and John Shawver Fore Seasons Golf Practice Center all tied for first place at the Pro-Pro #3 on Monday, June 5 at Hickory Grove Golf Course. Both teams turned in a round of 8-under-par 64.
Teams for the Pro-Pro #3 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in an 18-Hole Team Event – 1 Best Ball of 2.
Black and Fisher carded birdies on holes 2, 4, 5, 8, 12, 14, 16 and 17 including a bogey on hole 15.
Lorenz and Shawver carded birdies on holes 3, 5, 8, 15, 17 and 18 including an eagle on hole 14.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #3 featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Matt Jennings of Bos Landen Golf Course claimed first place in the Open Division with a 6-under-par 66. Jennings carded birdies on holes 3, 8, 11, 14 and 18; an eagle on hole 17 including a bogey on hole 16. Runner up Brian Lorenz of Spirit Hollow Golf Course turned in a round of 5-under-par 67.
Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course took home first place in the Senior Division with an 1-under-par 71. Luedtke carded birdies on holes 9 and 14 including a bogey on hole 12. Runner up Black turned in a round of 1-over-par 73.
Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course took home first place in the Super Senior Division with a 2-over-par 74. Schnell carded birdies on holes 4, 13 and 17 including bogeys on holes 6, 7, 9, 11 and 15. Runner up David Gantt of Des Moines Driving Range turned in a round of 10-over-par 82.
