Team Steffen/Trobaugh Win Pro-Pro #2-
Silvis, Illinois – Zach Steffen of Terrace Hills Golf Course and Kevin Trobaugh of Des Moines Golf & Country Club won the Pro-Pro #2 Monday, April 24 at TPC Deere Run. Sutton and Trobaugh turned in a round of 5-under-par 66 to capture the win.
Teams for Pro-Pro #2 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in an 18-Hole Team Event – 1 Best Ball of 2.
Steffen and Trobaugh carded birdies on holes 4, 8, 10, 11, 14 and 17 including a bogey on hole 1 to capture the win.
Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course and Adam Miller of Derby Grange Golf and Recreation Center; Dillon Baker of Finkbine Golf Course and Bryan Haas of Lake House Sports; Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course and Todd Fowler of Golf Galaxy – Davenport and Davis Sutton and Dallas Koth both of Cedar Rapids Country Club all tied for second place. All teams turned in rounds of 4-under-par 67.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #2 featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Black claimed first place in the Open Division with a 4-under-par 67. Black carded birdies on holes 1, 10, 13, 14 and 17 including a bogey on hole 5. Runner up Sutton turned in a round of 3-under-par 68.
Black took home first place in the Senior Division with an 4-under-par 67. Runner up Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club turned in a round of 1-over-par 72.
Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course took home first place in the Super Senior Division with a 4-over-par 75. Smith carded birdies on holes 10, 11 and 12; bogeys on holes 1, 3, 14, 16 and 18 including double bogey on hole 7. Runner up Mike Armes of Pinnacle Country Club with round of 21-over-par 92.
