Team McCarty Win Pro-Scratch Team McCarty/Bates Win Pro-Senior Scratch
Iowa City, IA – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and Chad McCarty won the Pro-Scratch; McCarty and Joe Bates won the Pro-Senior Scratch Monday, September 14 at Finkbine Golf Course.

McCarty’s turned in a 9-under-par round of 63 to capture the win. They made one eagle, eight birdies and one bogey in their round of 63. There was a three-way tie for second place with an 8-under-par round of 64. The teams of Matt Erger and Ross McLaughlin of Airport National, Chris Black and Doug Schweinefus of Hickory Grove Golf and Sam Rice and JD Anderson of Hyperion Field Club were at 64.

McCarty and Bates won the Pro-Senior Scratch with a 9-under-par round of 63. They made one eagle, eight birdies and one bogey in their round of 63. The team of Ryan McClintock and Tim Flaherty of Short Hills Country Club finished in second place with an 8-under-par round of 64.

Teams for Pro-Scratch/Pro-Senior were comprised of one Professional and one Amateur competing in a 18-hole, Individual Low Pro and Team 1 Best Ball of 2 gross.

In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Scratch/Pro-Senior featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.

McCarty claimed first place in the Open Division with a 6-under-par round of 66. McCarty carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 15 with bogeys on holes 16 and 18. Tie for second place was Rice and Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club who carded 3-under-par rounds of 69.

Schmid took home first place in the Senior Division with a 3-under-par round of 69. Schmid carded an eagle on hole 6 with birdies on holes 2, 15 and 17 including bogeys on holes 5 and 14 in route to his victory. John Dinnebier of Briarwood Golf Club turned in a 2-under-par round of 70.

Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course won the Super Senior Division with a 1-under-par round of 71. Smith carded birdies on holes 2, 10, 15 and 17 with bogeys on holes 4, 8 and 18 in his win. Tie for second place was Ken Schall of Ken Schall Performance Studio and Joe Butler of Burlington Golf Club as they carded even-under par rounds of 72.
