Team Erger Wins Pro-Senior-
Pella, Iowa – Matt Erger of Airport National Golf Course and his team of Tracy Sankot, Steve Hageman and Jerry Goedken won the Pro-Senior Monday, September 29 at Bos Landen Golf Course. Team Erger turned in 24 quota points to capture the win.
Teams for Pro-Senior were comprised of one Professional and three Senior Amateurs competing in a modified Stableford Scoring system.
Tate Carlson of Elmwood Country Club and his team of Mike Woltjer, Bob Stahlin and Brad Iverson turned in 18 quota points to come in second place.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Senior featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior, Super Senior and Legends Divisions.
A two-way tie between Matt Jennings of Bos Landen Golf Course and McCarty in the Open Division both turned in 4-under-par round of 68.
Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club took home first place in the Senior Division. McCarty carded birdies on holes 3, 5, 11, 13, 15, 16 including a double bogey on hole 18. Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club turned in 3-under-par 69 to come in second place in the Senior Division.
Curt Schnell of Okoboji View Golf Course took home first place in the Super Senior Division with 4-over-par round of 76. Schnell carded birdies on holes 2, 6 and 8; bogeys on holes 3, 5, 7, 12 and 15 including a double bogey on hole 4.
Gene Bears of Hillcrest Country Club took home first place in the Legends Division with 40-under-par round of 112. Bears carded bogeys on holes 9 and 10 including double bogeys on holes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18.
