Stroke Play Championship Recap-
Port St. Lucie, Florida – Three of our Iowa PGA Professionals Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Tracy Vest of Lake House Sports and Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course competed in the Stroke Play Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 9-11, 2025.
Vest’s three-day total rounds were 69-71-72=212, 1-under-par and finished T31st place.
McCarty’s two-day total rounds were 70-76=146, 3-over-par.
Proehl’s two-day total rounds were 70-79=149, 6-over-par.
Round 1
Vest’s first round he carded birdies on holes 3, 12 and 13 including a bogey on hole 14.
Proehl’s first round he carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 4, 8 and 13 including bogeys on holes 7, 10, 12 and 14.
McCarty’s first round he carded birdies on holes 2, 3, 7, 12 and 15 including bogeys on holes 5, 8, 9 and 13.
Round 2
Vest’s second round he carded birdies on holes 7, 13 and 15 including bogeys on holes 4 and 8.
McCarty’s second round he carded birdies on holes 7, 15 and 16 including bogeys on holes 1, 2, 9, 12, 13, 17 and 18.
Proehl’s second round he carded birdies on holes 9 and 16; bogeys on holes 2, 3, 7, 8, 11, 13 and 17 including a double bogey on hole 10.
Proehl and McCarty missed the 2-over-par cut.
Round 3
Vest’s final round he carded birdies on holes 6, 13 and 17 including bogeys on holes 5, 8, 12 and 16.
