Schmid Finishes T3 at PGA Tournament Series Event #3

Port St. Luice, Florida – Iowa PGA Member, Jeff Schmid, Brown Deer Golf Course, finished T3 in Event #3 of the PGA Tournament Series today on the Ryder course of the PGA Golf Club. Joshua Rackley of Brookville, New York won in a 7-hole play-off versus John Cassidy of Silverton, Oregon.
 
Schmid recorded a four-under-par 68 in the first round of Event #3 and was tied for fifth entering the final round. He followed his first round with another four-under-par 68 in the final round for a tournament total 8-under-par 136.
 
Schmid birdied five holes and took the lead on the 6th hole. Schmid held within one shot of the two play-off contestants on the back-nine with back-to-back birdies on holes #13 and #14.  Schmid made pars on the final four holes to remain one-shot out of the play-off.
 
Iowa PGA Member, Chad Proehl, Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course, also competed in Event #3. ’s first round featured a two-over par 74. He would respond with a two-under-par 70 in the final round to shoot even par (144) for the tournament and finish T28.  Chris Black, Hickory Grove Golf, finished in a tie for 87th with rounds of 76-81=157.
 
The PGA Tournament Series continues December 12-13 with Event #4. The fourth event takes place on the Dye Course at the PGA Golf Club. Schmid, Proehl and Black with all be participating in this event.  Click here for complete results.
