Schmid and Gibb Tie for Win at the Rain Shortened 36 Hole Classic
Marshalltown, IA – The 36 Hole Classic were comprised of a Stroke Play, Individual PGA Open Division, Senior Division and Super Senior Division. This event was held at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown, IA on Monday, June 22. Due to the severe weather it was shortened by 18 holes.
Jeffrey Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Course and Judd Gibb of Lakeside Municipal Golf Course tied for first place in the Open and Senior Divisions with a three-under-par rounds of 67. Schmid carded three birdies on holes 13, 17 and 18. Gibb carded three birdies on holes 3, 5 and 13. Ty Stewart of Hyperion Field Club placed third with a one-under-par round of 69.
Jim Henry of EK Golf won the Super Senior Division with a six-over-par round of 76. Henry carded four birdies holes 3, 6, 9 and 17, two double bogeys and five bogeys. Larry Castagnoli, Life Member Retired, and Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course tied for second place with a seven-over-par rounds of 77.
