Port St. Lucie, Iowa – The Iowa PGA team of Chad Proehl and Jay Giannetto made the 54-hole cut at the Senior-Junior Team Championship at the PGA Golf Club after placing T22 after the third round. The team of Sean McCarty and Dave Ranney missed the 54-hole cut following Wednesday’s round.
Proehl and Giannetto started the third round tied for 17th with a two-day total of 9-under-par 136. They got off to a good start on the Dye Course in round three birdieing three of their first five holes and finished the front nine with back-to-back birdies on Nos. seven and eight to make the turn at 4-under-par 32. The duo added another birdie on the par-5 10th hole, but would give two shots back with bogeys on the 16th hole and 18th hole. Proehl and Giannetto finished the third round at 3-under-par 69 for a tournament total 12-under-par 204 to make the 54-hole cut. Their final round begins at 8:30 a.m. (ET) on the Wanamaker Course.
After making their way back inside the cutline on Tuesday, McCarty and Ranney carded two birdies in the third round to shoot even-par. The duo finished 6-under-par (210) and missed the 54-hole cut.
The final round will be played on the Wanamaker Course. The winning team will split $10,000. The cut came at 10-under, with 40 teams advancing.
