Naegel Leads Round One of the 87th Iowa Open

Riverside, IA – Chris Naegel from Wildwood, MO leads round one of the 87th Iowa Open Friday, July 31 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Naegel turn in a 9-under-par round of 63 to lead round one. Interview with Naegel, click here.

Naegel carded birdies on holes 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 17. This is the Blue Top Ridge competitive course record.

In second place is Otto Black from Brighton, MI carded a bogey on hole 17; birdies on holes 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13. Black turned in 7-under-par round of 65.

Marshall Gavre from Fairfield, IA and Bryan Luedtke of Galesburg, IL tied in the Pro Senior Division with an even-par round of 72.
Gavre recorded bogeys on holes 2, 9 and 13 with birdies on holes 3, 6 and 12.  Luedtke recorded bogeys on holes 1, 8, 10 and 18 with birdies on holes 2, 3, 7 and 9.

Open Amateur Division is lead by Andrew O’Brien from Clive, IA with a round of 5-under-par round of 67.

Open Senior Amateur Division is lead by Robert Jacobs from Valparaiso, IN with a round of 2-under-par round of 70.

The second round of the 87th Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. For pairings and tee times, click here.
