Naegel and Beckler both Lead Round Two of the 92nd Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – The 92nd Iowa Open presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort is led by both Chris Naegel of Wildwood, Missouri and Andrew Beckler of Topeka, Kansas on Saturday, August 2 at Blue Top Ridge. Naegel turned in a 6-under-par round of 66 in round two – 67-66=133, 11-under-par and Beckler turned in 7-under-par round of 65 in round two – 68-65=133, 11-under-par.
Pro Senior Division is led by Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club by turning in a 5-under-par 67. McCarty carded birdies on holes 2, 3, 4, 12, 14 and 16 including a bogey on hole 5. McCarty turned in a 5-under-par 67 in round two – 70-67=137, 7-under-par.
Pro Super Senior Division is led by John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course by turning in a 2-under-par 70. Bermel carded birdie on holes 2 and 14. In second place, led by Chuck Moran of Marshalltown, Iowa turned in a 1-under-par 76. Bermel turned in a 2-under-par 70 in round two – 71-70=141, 3-under-par.
Open Amateur Division has a two-way tie for first place with Grant Gudgel of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Zach May of Ames, Iowa. Gudgel turned in a 3-under-par 69 in round two – 69-69=138, 6-under-par and May turned in a 5-under-par 67 in round two – 71-67=138, 6-under-par.
Open Senior Amateur Division is led by Scott Schultz of Muscatine, Iowa by turning in a 2-over-par 74. Schultz carded birdies on holes 2, 15 and 17; bogeys on holes 1, 6 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 11. Schultz turned in a 2-over-par 74 in round two – 82-74=156, 12-over-par.
Open Super Senior Amateur Division is led by Bob Brooks of West Des Moines, Iowa by turning in an even-par 72. Brooks carded birdies on holes 9 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 13. Brooks turned in a even-par 72 in round two – 75-72=147, 3-over-par.
The final round of the 92nd Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 at 7:30 a.m. For pairings and tee times, click here.
