Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The team of Ryan McClintock and John Panek won the Iowa PGA Fall Education and Pro-Pro event yesterday at the Cedar Rapids Country Club.
McClintock and Panek carded a bogey-free round with seven birdies for a 7-under-par 65. The Davenport duo out lasted the team of Ben Montgomery and Davis Sutton by one stroke. Montgomery and Sutton tallied seven birdies in their round including, three-in-a-row on Nos. 2-4, but bogeyed the par-3 12th hole to finish at 6-under-par 66.
In addition to the team event, this event also featured an Open Division, Senior Division and Super Senior Division. Sutton won the Open Division with a 4-under-par 68. Sutton carded five birdies, including three-in-a-row on Nos. 2-4. He beat out Sean McCarty by two-strokes to claim his second Iowa PGA victory of the season.
Bryan Haas, Todd Schultz and Jeffery Schmid all tied for first in the Senior Division with a 2-over-par 74. Haas had three birdies in his round including two-in-a-row on Nos, 17-18. Schmid carded four birdies, including two-in-a-row on Nos. 14-15, while Schultz recorded three birdies in his round.
Joe Butler of Burlington Golf Club won the Super Senior Division with a round total of 7-over-par 79. Butler defeated the likes of BG Campbell and Larry Castagnoli who both finished T2 at 11-over-par (83).
Due to a lack of participation, the Harris Golf Cars Pro-Facility event scheduled for Thursday, September 27 has been canceled. The final event on the 2018 Iowa PGA schedule is the NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars PGA Shootout. This event takes place on Monday and Tuesday, October 1-2.
