McCarty Leads NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout After Day One
Amana, IA – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club leads the NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout after day one, Monday October 5, 2020 at Amana Colonies Golf Club. Final round will be completed on October 6, 2020 and a Shotgun starts tomorrow morning at 9am.
Iowa PGA Professionals are competing in a 36-hole Stroke Play with Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
McCarty sits in first place in the Open Division with a 3-under-par round of 69. McCarty carded birdies on holes 2, 3, 7 and 11 with and double bogey on hole 4 including an eagle on hole 6 and a bogey on hole 17. There is a four-way tie for second place between Judd Gibb of Lakeside Municipal Golf Course, Tracy Vest of Blue Top Ridge, Matt Erger of Airport National and Ryan McClintock of Short Hills Country Club as all carded 2-over-par rounds of 74.
Gibb leads in the Senior Division with a 2-over-par round of 74. Gibb recorded bogeys on holes 3, 9 and 15 with a birdie on hole 11. Runner-up John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course carded 4-over-par rounds of 76.
Jim Henry of EK Golf leads the Super Senior Division with an 8-over-par round of 80. Henry carded a double bogey on hole 6 with birdie on hole 9 including bogeys on holes 1, 2, 3, 5, 15, 16 and 18. Tie for Runner-up Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course and Ken Schall of Ken Schall Performance Studio as both carded 9-over-par rounds of 81.
