Johnston, Iowa – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and Mark Egly of Des Moines Driving range won the Brad Wuhs Pro-Pro event at the Hyperion Field Club in Johnston, Iowa on Monday. This marks the fourth victory of the year for McCarty.
McCarty and Egly posted a bogey-free round with nine birdies for a 9-under-par 63 in the Pro-Pro team event. The duo edged Chris Black and Darin Fisher by two strokes. Black and Fisher also carded a bogey-free round and poured in seven birdies, including three in a row on numbers 16-18.
McCarty also claimed the Open Division with a 6-under par 66. He bested Fisher, Proehl and Jay Giannetto who all finished at 3-under par 69.
Proehl was the winner of the Senior Division. The victory marks his second Senior Division win of the season. He carded two birdies to go along with an eagle on the par-5 11th, and one bogey for a 3-under-par 69.
Gale Gilbert won the Super Senior Division with a 4-over-par 76. Gilbert’s round was highlighted by 10 pars and two birdies in route to his first victory of the season. Click here to view full results.
