Kurtis Luedtke Leads Round One of the 89th Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – Kurtis Luedtke of Charleston, South Carolina leads round one of the 89th Iowa Open presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort on Friday, July 29 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Luedtke turned in a 7-under-par round of 65 to lead round one.
Luedtke carded an eagle on hole 12; birdies on holes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 17 including bogeys on holes 6 and 18. Brendan O’Reilly of Jupiter, Florida turned in 6-under-par 66 to place second. Three other players are in a tie for third place with rounds of 67, 5-under-par, Gregory Edwards of Flowery Branch, Georgia; Andrew Beckler of Topeka, Kansas and Matt Tolan of Tea, South Dakota.
E.A. Tischler of Munster, Indiana leads the Pro Senior Division with 1-under-par 71. Tischler recorded birdies on holes 4, 12, 13 and 15 including bogeys on holes 2, 6 and 8. Three other players are in a tie for second place with rounds of 72, even-par, Ryan Baker of St. Louis, Missouri; Bryan Luedtke of Galesburg, Illinois and Jeff Schmid of Iowa City, Iowa.
Pro Super Senior has a three-player tie for first place with rounds of 2-over-par 74 were Dave Ranney of Lamoni, Iowa; Marshall Gavre, Fairfield, Iowa and John Bermel of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Open Amateur Division is led by Will Simpson of Pella, Iowa with a round of 3-under-par 69. In second place was Benton Weinberg of Iowa City, Iowa he turned in a round of 1-under-par 71.
Open Senior Amateur Division is lead by Jeff Collett of Ottumwa, Iowa by turning in a 1-under-par 71. Collett carded birdies on holes 2, 3, 8, 11 and 16 including bogeys on holes 5, 13, 15 and 18. In second place was Jay Gregory of Lineville, Iowa he turned in a round of 2-over-par 74.
Open Super Senior Amateur Division is lead by Pat Ryan of Marshalltown, Iowa with 2-over-par 74. Ryan carded birdies on holes 12 and 14 including bogeys on holes 1, 2, 6 and 13.
The second round of the 89th Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. For pairings and tee times, click here.
