Iowa PGA Pro-Junior Team Results-
Coralville, Iowa – Winners crowned in the Iowa PGA Pro-Junior played on July 6, 2026, at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, Iowa. Teams for Iowa PGA Pro-Junior were comprised of one Professional and three Juniors amateurs competing in an 18-Hole, Individual Low Pro and Team 2 Best balls of 4 gross.
Senior Boys Team Division-
Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and his team of Pierce Hribar, Luke Collier and Logan Otting won the Senior Boys Division (ages 14-17) with a team total of 13-under-par 121. Adam Squires of Sunnyside Country Club (won in scorecard playoff) and his team of Jackson Stanford, Jay McCausland and Thomas Fereday in second in the Senior Girls Team Division turned in scores of 12-under-par 130. John Bermel and his team of Max Mudd, Gage Wegmann and Connor Tripp-Rieks finished behind in third place with 12-under-par 130. Click here to view full Senior Boys Division results.
Senior Girls Team Division-
Sarah Bidney of Hyperion Field Club and her team of Katelynn Bidney, Lily Bowersox and Sophie Newman won the Senior Girls Team Division (ages 14-17) with a team total of 12-over-par 154. Brian Wernimont of Brown Deer Golf Club and his team of Hayzel Wernimont, Alexa Wagner and Thea Coobs finished in second in the Senior Girls Team Division with a team total of 21-over-par 163. John Thompson of Prairie Links Golf & Event Center and his team of Addison Wittmayer, Reagan Meyers and Natalie Clausen finished behind in third place with a 22-over-par 164. Junior Boys Team Division-
Dylan McAleer of Pinnacle Country Club and his team of Matthew Nonnenmann, Kashton Ballard and August Cross won the Junior Boys Division (ages 13 & Under) with a team total of 11-under-par 131. Kyle Spence of Pleasant Valley Golf Club and his team of Jackson Bernabe, Jacob Kirk and Wyatt Lahr finished in finished in second in the Junior Boys Team Division with a 8-under-par 134. John Panek of Davenport Country Club and his team of Bentley Panek, Ian Johnson and Andy George finished behind in third place with 7-under-par 135. Junior Girls Team Division-
Dillon Baker of Elev8 Golf Club and his team of Lynnix McMullin, McKenzie Robinson and Hannah Kim won the Junior Girls Team Division (ages 13 & Under) with a team total of 1-over-par 143. Click here to view Junior Girls Division results.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Junior featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior, Super Senior and Legends Divisions.
We had a 3-way tie for first place in the Open Division Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and Ben Montgomery of Airport National Golf Course all turned in scores of 6-under-par 65.
McCarty and Schmid both tied in the Senior Division.
Bermel took home first place in the Super Senior Division with a 2-under-par 69. Runner-up in the Super Senior Division Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course turned in 3-over-par 74.
The Iowa PGA would like to PGA Head Professional Sean McCarty, PGA Teaching Professional Jeff Schmid, PGA Assistant Professional Brian Wernimont and Chris Stauffer and the entire Brown Deer Golf Club staff for hosting the event.
