Iowa PGA Kicks Off 2019 Season Monday

Riverside, Iowa – The 2019 Iowa PGA Season begins Monday, April 1 with the Pro-Pro #1 presented by Harris Golf Cars. This event will be hosted at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, Iowa.  

The Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #1 will be held in conjunction with the Iowa PGA Spring Business Meeting presented by Under Armour and Harris Golf Cars and is a non-point event for the 2019 Player of the Year race.

The Iowa PGA is honored to have PGA National Secretary John Lindert, PGA, from Country Club of Lansing in Lansing, Michigan attending its Board and Spring Meeting. Lindert was elected Secretary at the Annual Meeting in November 2018.

Lindert has served at all levels of governance.  He was an Assistants Association Officer in Michigan as well as a Section Officer.  He has served on various national committees including Membership, Awards and the Governance Task Force.  He then served on the PGA National Board of Control having been appointed by Past President Jim Remy.  He was most recently the District Director representing the Michigan, Southern Ohio and Northern Ohio Sections. Lindert is a Pros-Pro and one of the most dedicated and engaging PGA Members around.

Following the Iowa PGA Spring Business Meeting, teams comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals will compete in an 18-hole team event playing in a one best ball of two format. There are no individual divisions with this event.

2019 marks the fourth year that the Pro-Pro event will be held in conjunction with the Spring Meeting. Judd Gibb and Chad Proehl won the first the first event back in 2016 with a team score of 6-under-par 64 at Elmcrest Country Club. The events in 2017 and 2018 were canceled due to inclement weather.
