Iowa Golf Association Lead Cup Matches After Day One-
East Moline, Illinois – The Iowa Golf Association lead the Iowa Cup Matches 12 to 8 after day one at the Short Hills Country Club. The final round will conclude tomorrow with singles matches starting at 8 a.m. Click here, for tee times for final round.

The morning started off with Four-Ball Matches. The Iowa PGA won four out right and halved two matches to tie 5.0 to 5.0 in the morning. The first four Iowa PGA teams won their matches with Jay Giannetto and Davis Sutton defeating Sam and Isaiah Zoske, 4 & 3. Bryan Luedtke and Bryan Haas defeated Kelly Brown and Roman Roth, 4 & 2. Tracy Vest and Jacob Bermel defeated Nate McCoy and Braeden Nelson, 1 up. Ken Schall and Todd Fowler defeated Joe Bates and Dave Waugh, 2 & 1, giving the Iowa PGA Cup Matches points to start the tournament.

Matt Erger and Dave Ranney were defeated by Josh Janeczko and Dusty Drenth, 2 & 1. Zach Steffen and Casey Harvey were defeated by Aaron Obrien and Trent Lindenman, 4 & 3. Kevin Troubaugh and JR Millar were defeated by Ron Peterson and Ben Peters, 3 & 2. Mark Atchison and Andrew Kinney were defeated by Bennett Berger and Ethan Mechling, 2 & 1. That helped get the Iowa Golf Association with 4 points.

Chris Black and Adam Miller tied Bill Matzdorff and Matt Schlueter; Paul DelVecchio and Joe Butler tied Curtis Holck and Tony Newkirk, all teams .05 points.

The afternoon session featured Foursome (Alternate Shot) matches. The Iowa PGA won 3 points and The Iowa Golf Association won 7 points in the Foursome Play. Adam Miller and Mark Atchison defeated Ben Peters and Matt Schlueter, 3 & 1. Ken Schall and Joe Butler defeated Tony Newkirk and Dave Waugh, 1 up.

Bryan Luedtke and Matt Erger tied Sam Zoske and Josh Janeczko; Todd Fowler and Paul DelVecchio tied Joe Bates and Curtis Holck, all teams .05 points.

The teams of Chris Black and Jay Giannetto, Jacob Bermel and Kevin Trobaugh, Davis Sutton and Zach Steffen, Andrew Kinney and Dave Ranney, Tracy Vest and Bryan Haas, Casey Harvey and JR Millar all lost their PM Matches. Heading into Friday’s Single Matches the Iowa Golf Association has 12 points to lead the Iowa PGA with 8 points.
