Haefner and Bienz both Lead Round One of the 92nd Iowa Open-
Riverside, Iowa – The 92nd Iowa Open presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort is led by both Grant Haefner of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Nick Bienz of Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, August 1 at Blue Top Ridge. Haefner and Bienz both turned in a 6-under-par round of 66 to lead round one.
Pro Senior Division is led by Chad Proehl of Urbandale, Iowa by turning in a 5-under-par 67. Proehl carded birdies on holes 1, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15 and 17; bogeys on holes 3 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 5. In second place led by Bryan Haas of North Liberty, Iowa turned in a 3-under-par 69.
Pro Super Senior Division is led by Chuck Moran of Marshalltown, Iowa by turning in a 5-under-par 67. Morna carded birdies on holes 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 15 including bogeys on holes 1 and 6. In second place, led by John Bermel of Cedar Falls, Iowa turned in a 1-under-par 71.
Open Amateur Division has a three-way tie for first place with Andrew O’Brien of Clive, Iowa, Grant Gudgel of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Cody Weaver of Gilman, Iowa all turned in a 3-under-par 69.
Open Senior Amateur Division is led by Scott Schultz of Muscatine, Iowa by turning in a 10-over-par 82. Schultz carded a birdie on hole 10; bogeys on holes 1, 4 and 13 including double bogeys on holes 2, 12 and 15.
Open Super Senior Amateur Division is led by Bob Brooks of West Des Moines, Iowa by turning in a 3-over-par 75. Brooks carded a birdie on hole 12 including bogeys on holes 9, 13, 14 and 16.
The second round of the 92nd Iowa Open takes place tomorrow at Blue Top Ridge. Groups will start off Numbers 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. For pairings and tee times, click here.
