Gibb Wins Junior Academy Stroke Play Event At Pheasant Ridge GC-
Cedar Falls, Iowa – Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf won the Individual Junior Academy Stroke Play event on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. Gibb turned in 6-under-par round of 66 to capture the win. Gibb carded birdies on holes 1, 9, 14, 15, 17 and 18 with an eagle on hole 8 including double bogeys on holes 3 and 5.
Tracy Vest of Blue Top Ridge and Darin Fisher of The Preserve at Rathbun Lake finished in a tie for 2nd place shooting rounds of 3-under-par rounds of 69.
There was also a team event where Professionals were paired with three Junior Academy participants for a fun team event. The Junior Golfers played a three-person best shot (scramble) and the Professionals played their own ball. The team score was the better score of the two scores (1-best ball).
Gibb and his team of Madilyn Duhrkopf, Bradley Kofoed and Owen Smerage won the Junior Academy Stroke Play Team event by shooting a 10-under par round of 62.
Vest of Blue Top Ridge and his team of Jackson Bidwell, Reid Hany and Joel Peterson tied the team of Jacob Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course and Noah Black, John Haus and Robbie Wengert with both teams shooting 9-under par rounds of 63.  Vest’s team won the scorecard playoff by birdieing the 18th hole.
