Four Iowa PGA Members to Compete at PGA Professional Championship-
Port St. Lucie, Florida – The Iowa PGA had four Iowa PGA Members competed in the PGA Professional Championship on April 27-30, 2025, at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Tracy Vest of Lake House Sports, Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club, Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and Darin Fisher of William Penn University.
Round one:
Schmid’s first round score of 69, he carded birdies on holes 6, 9, 14 and 17 including bogeys on holes 4 and 17.
Vest’s first round score of 75, he carded birdies on holes 6, 13 and 15; bogeys on holes 7, 8, 9, 17 and 18 including a double bogey on hole 11.
Giannetto’s first round score of 78, he carded a birdie on hole 15; bogeys on holes 3, 7, 9, 13 and 17 including a double bogey on hole 12.
Fisher’s first round score of 79, he carded bogeys on holes 2, 9 and 12 including double bogeys on holes 10 and 18.
Round two:
Schmid’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 7, 12 and 16 including bogeys on holes 3, 14 and 17. His 36-hole total scores were 69-71, 3-under-par.
Vest’s second round he carded a birdie on hole 10; bogeys on holes 5, 6 and 8; an eagle on hole 7 including a double bogey on hole 9. His 36-hole total scores were 75-75=150, 7-over-par.
Fisher’s second round he carded bogey on holes 1, 12, 15 and 17. His 36-hole total scores were 79-75=154, 11-over-par.
Giannetto’s second round he carded birdies on holes 3, 4 and 13; bogeys on holes 10 and 12 including double bogeys on holes 6, 9 and 11. His 36-hole total scores were 78-77=155, 12-over-par.
Vest, Fisher and Giannetto missed the projected 36-hole cut.
Round three:
Schmid’s third round he carded birdies on holes birdies 7, 8 and 16 including bogeys on holes 3, 5, 10, 17 and 18.
Final Round:
Schmid’s final round he carded birdies on holes 13 and 16; bogeys on holes 2, 3, 4, 15 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 11 and 18. His 72-hole total scores were 69-71-74-80=294, 7-over-par.
