East Team Captures the Win at the East-West Team Event-
Coralville, Iowa – The East Team won East-West Team Event on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Brown Deer Golf Club. Teams for East-West Team Event were compromised of 10 best balls gross, on each hole. The East Team was led by Mike Armes as they shot 78-under-par score of 561 to defeat the West Team.
The Section was divided into team members from the East and team members from the West. In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA East-West Team Event featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course, Matt Jennings of Edmundson Golf Course and Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club all tied for first place in the Open Division. Black, Proehl, Jennings and Schmid all carded 4-under-par scores of 67.
Black, Proehl and Schmid all tied for first place in the Senior Division.
Jim Henry of Ek Golf and life member Gale Gilbert both tied for first place in the Super Senior Division. Henry and Gilbert both carded 4-over-par 75.
