Day Two Complete at the 86th Iowa Open

RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Defending Iowa Open Champion and 2019 Greater Cedar Rapids Open Champion, Dan Woltman sits atop the leaderboard as we head to the final round of the 86th Iowa Open. Woltman carded another 6-under par 66 to sit at 12-under par to edge Joseph Gunerman who sits at 9-under par after a wonderful 6-under par 66 today.

Woltman of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin recorded eight birdies with two bogeys in his round of golf, including back-to-back birdies on holes 11 and 12. Gunerman recorded a clean round of golf with 6 birdies, including a run of three on holes 3, 4 and 5 with no bogeys to move within 3-shots of the lead.

Zach Steffen of Des Moines, Iowa fired a round of 68 to sit alone in 3rd place at 7-under par.  Current and former Iowa Hawkeye Golfers, Matthew Walker and brothers Alex and Carson Schaake are tied for 4th at 6-under par.

Jason Millard of Murfreesboro, Tennessee moved up 37 spots with a fine round of 5-under par 67 that included 6 birdies and 1 bogey.

The field was cut to the top 70 and ties which included anyone that was 5-over par, 149.

Rob Riggins of West Des Moines, Iowa fired a round of 4-under 68 to sit atop the leaderboard in the Iowa Open Senior Division at 6-under par.  Riggins overcame a double-bogey on the par-5 7th hole with 8 birdies, three bogeys.  His eight birdies included a run of 5 birdies on holes 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13.

As they say in the golf world the two most important birdies one needs to make are on holes 9 and 18…Riggins did that as well.

Iowa PGA Section Champion, Judd Gibb, shot another 2-under par 70 to sit 2 shots back of Riggins.  Gibbs round included 5 birdies and 3 bogeys.  Mark Rohde is 4 shots back at 2-under par.  Bryan Luedtke is the only other senior under par and sits in 4th place at 1-under par.
