2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship Recap-
Port St. Lucie, Florida – Six of our Iowa PGA Members competed in the 2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship at the Port St. Lucie, Florida (October 23-26, 2025). Schmid 25th place, McCarty T44th place and Luedtke T61st place after the 72-hole championship.

McCarty (Exempt) is joined by Jeff Schmid (Exempt) of Brown Deer Golf Club, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Club, Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf, Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course, and Darin Fisher of William Penn University.

Schmid are part of the corebridge financial PGA Team Top 35 that will compete in the 2026 Senior PGA Championship to be held on May 22-25, 2026 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.

Round 1 – October 23, 2025
Schmid’s first round he carded birdies on holes 7, 8 and 16 including bogeys on holes 4, 17 and 18. His first-round total score was 72.

Luedtke’s first round he carded birdies on holes 16 and 17 including bogeys on holes 9 and 18. His first-round total score was 72.

Proehl’s first round he carded birdies on holes 9 and 16 including bogeys on holes 3, 13 and 17. His first-round total score was 73.

Gibb’s first round he carded birdies on holes 10 and 17 including bogeys on holes 3, 4, 13 and 16. His first-round total score was 74.

McCarty’s first round he carded birdies on holes 1, 3, 8 and 14; bogeys on holes 9, 12 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 6 and 16. His first-round total score was 75.

Round 2 – October 24, 2025
McCarty’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 9, 10, 11 and 17; bogeys on holes 8 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 15. His second-round total score of 71.

Schmid’s second round he carded birdies on holes 5, 15 and 18 including bogeys on holes 3, 4 and 17. His second-round total score of 72.

Luedtke’s second round he carded birdies on holes 5 and 18 including bogeys on holes 2, 6, 10, 13 and 14. His second-round total score of 75.

Proehl’s second round he carded birdies on holes 3, 4, 7, 13 and 18; bogeys on holes 1, 2, 9 and 16 including double bogeys on holes 12 and 15. His second-round total score of 77.

Fisher’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 7 and 16; bogeys on holes 3, 5, 6, 14 and 18 including double bogeys on holes 9 and 12. His 36-hole total scores were 73-79=152, 8-over-par.

Gibb’s second round he carded birdies on holes 10 and 17 including bogeys on holes 3, 4, 13 and 16. His 36-hole total scores were 74-77=151, 7-over-par.

The projected 36-hole cut was +6. Gibb and Fisher fought hard.

Round 3 – October 25, 2025
McCarty’s third-round he carded birdies on holes 15 and 16; bogeys on holes 10 including double bogeys on holes 11 and 14. His third-round total score of 74.

Luedtke’s third-round he carded a birdie on hole 7 including bogeys on holes 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16. His third-round total score of 76.

Schmid’s third round he carded birdies on holes 7 and 16 including bogeys on holes 3, 4, 9, 11 and 14. His third-round total score of 77.

Proehls’ third-round he carded birdies on holes 8 and 16; bogeys on holes 2 and 10 including double bogeys on holes 9 and 11. His 54-hole total score were 73-77-76=226, 10-over-par.

The projected 54-hole cut was +8. Proehl fought hard.

Final Round – October 26, 2025
Schmid’s final round he carded birdies on holes 8, 10, 11, 13 and 16 including bogeys on holes 9 and 12. His four-day total score were 72-72-77-69=290, 2-over-par and finished T25th place.

McCarty’s final round he carded birdies on holes 1, 8 and 16’ bogeys on holes 3, 9 and 14 including a double bogey on hole 4. His four-day total scores were 75-71-74-74=294, 6-over-par and finished in T44th place.

Luedtke’s final round he carded a birdie on hole 5 including bogeys on holes 1, 2 and 17. His four-day total scores were 72-75-76-74=297, 9-over-par and finished in T61st place.
