Aaron Krueger, Head PGA Professional at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa, has qualified for the 2014 PGA Championship. Krueger is among twenty PGA Professionals who have advanced from the 2014 PGA Professional National Championship which was held at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club & Grande Dunes Resort Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on June 22-25, 2014.
Krueger shot a tournament total 292 +4 (75, 71, 74, 72) to finish in a tie for 12th place. Click HERE for full leaderboard.
Krueger competed against 311 other PGA Professionals in this annual national event which includes the best players from all 41 PGA Sections throughout the United States. Krueger qualified for this event by winning the 2013 Iowa PGA Professional Championship which was held last July at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
Krueger’s 2013 Iowa PGA Professional Championship win also qualified him for the 2014 John Deere Classic which will be held at TPC Deere Run starting on July 10th.
Five other Iowa PGA Professionals competed in this event and they also advanced from the 2013 Iowa PGA Professional Championship. Congratulations to Chris Black, Hickory Grove Country Club, John Dinnebier, Lake Panorama National Golf Course, Darin Fisher, The Preserve on Rathbun Lake, Ryan McClintock, Davenport Country Club, and Chad Proehl, Sugar Creek Golf Course.
Iowa native and PGA Tour veteran, Jerry Smith originally from Oskaloosa, Iowa, also qualified for the PGA Championship as well by finishing in a tie for 12th place.
