Panek Wins Mizuno Golf 36-Hole Classic

Silvis, IL – John Panek of Davenport Country Club won the Open Division of the Mizuno Golf 36-Hole Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL, recording a 3-under par 139. Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal GC claimed the Senior Division, and BG Campbell was the winner of the Super Senior Division.

Panek carded eight birdies in two rounds today. Recording a 2-under 69 in the first round before finishing with a 1-under par 70 in the second round.

Proehl recorded a 1-over par 72 in the first round, carding five birdies. He followed up with a two-over par 73 in the second round for a tournament total 145 to claim the Senior Division. Proehl also finished second in the Open Division.

Campbell of Oskaloosa Golf Course recorded a tournament total 165, holding off Gale Gilbert, who recorded a tournament total 170.

The 2018 Iowa Cup Matches take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 2-3 at Spirit Hollow Golf Course. This two-day event features the Iowa PGA Professionals vs the Iowa Amateurs in a Ryder Cup Format.
