Iowa Open Heads to Blue Top Ridge at Riverside
The 84th playing of the Iowa Open will take place on August 25-27, 2017 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. This historic championship in the state of Iowa features top professionals and amateurs from all over the Midwest.
This year’s purse will feature a similar breakdown as prior years with the winner taking home a $25,000 check.
“We are excited to host this Championship at our Rees Jones designed golf course and give the players a fair but challenging test,” said Bryan Haas, PGA Director of Golf at Blue Top Ridge. “With our hotel and casino on property, the event is a great opportunity to showcase our facility to players and guests.”
Administered by the Iowa PGA Section, the event dates back to 1927 and has had winners like Zach Johnson, Mike McCoy, Mike Bender, and Sean McCarty, just to name a few.
“The Iowa PGA is looking forward to having this championship at the same facility as our home office,” said John Valliere, President of the Iowa PGA. “We have called Riverside home for the last ten years and to have the Iowa Open at Riverside is going to be very special for everyone.”

This year’s event features two Foundations that impact lives within in the Iowa community. Proceeds will go towards the GIV E Foundation and the Iowa PGA Foundation. The GIVE Foundation provides a structured golf program for injured Iowa Veterans year round who use the Iowa City VA Health Care System, Sioux Falls VA Health Care System and VA Central Iowa Health Care System. The Iowa PGA Foundation utilizes the game of golf to positively impact lives through charitable giving with emphasis on scholarships, junior golf, and injured veterans.
